Exercise #2

Exercise #2

Week#4 – World Views Exercise #2 – Cultural Reading + WViews quiz

For this Exercise I chosen the "China restricts Ramadan fasting in Xinjiang" topic, and my point of view is as following:

The Conflict is on Xinjiang region in People's Republic of China. And the involved parties are the Muslim Chinese who lives in the region and Chinese government. The conflict is mainly focusing on not allowing Muslim people from fasting at Ramadan which is one of the main aspects of their religion. And since this is part of the Islamic religion ritual it became a sensitive situation for them, especially that the government reason’s and justification was weak and not logical.

We think the cultural view on these conflicts is all about power and fear since the government uses its power to ban Muslims from fasting during Ramadan claiming that it will effect on employees health and their capability, without taking in consideration the Sacredness of the subject for the Muslims.

In our opinion the best solution to this problem is allowing Muslim’s to carry out and perform their Religious behaviors without any interruption, especially they didn't cause any harm of any kind to other local’s what so ever.

Exercise #1

Is bullfighting cultural acceptable? OR should we as traveler's to help make changes in traditions??

This is the YouTube link:

In my point of view Bullfighting is not acceptable for many reasons. Because it’s simply causing many severe damages to the people participating and the animal it self’s which may lead to death sometimes.

But just because we are not accepting this historic traditions didn’t give us the right to travel and enforce stopping or changing it. I think it’s something related to the local’s them self’s to decide that since they are the one who created in the first place!

A Little About Myself :)

Hi, I’m Khadher. It’s difficult when someone ask's you what makes you unique. I believe it's a tricky question which unfortunately I can’t answer it because I believe others can see your uniqueness if it’s true and it’s not proper to speak about our self’s in that way.

Everything related to Technology & gadgets always draws my attention, and luckily since I’m working in IT field too, this make it easier for me to like what I do. I used to have big interest about Chinese history, I dreamed to visit the Great Wall but I didn't expect at all that this dream will come true and more surprising on my birthday & with my brother!

I Traveled to Australia, Egypt, and UK. I meet old friends in some visit's & I created new a great friendship in others. I started working in young age with a multicultural company, this helped me a lot to know how to deal and accept different cultural even if they have big difference from our's. This also helped me a lot to avoid any culture-shock. As a result I’m having a very close work colleague & friend from China as example.

Holi is one of the festival I really liked to visit. In spite its religious side, it appears that everyone is having fun and happy. Also seeing this much colors everywhere brings Cheerfulness.

Hope this quick information about me gives you a closer look to me. Please don't' hesitate to drop me an email if you have any questions and let's do our best to get "A" !
